Location

Olives Cottage is located in the village of Braithwaite just outside Keswick. The area is ideally located for exploring the Lake District.

The village has local shops and a pub, while a supermarket and vast array of other shops particularly for outdoor equipment are available at Keswick. Keswick also has a wide selection of pubs and restaurants as well as a Leisure Centre and indoor climbing wall, cinema and the renowned Theatre On The Lake.

Numerous outdoor activities are available locally including sailing and kayaking on Derwent Water or for the more leisurely you can take a ride on a steamer to explore the lake. Nearby at Bassenthwaite there is an Osprey Viewing Point and Whinlatter Pass is just a couple of miles from the cottage. The visitor centre is well worth a visit.
